How OOONO works across Europe

The OOONO CO-DRIVER NO2 connects to a community of over 4 million drivers via the free OOONO app. Every driver in the network automatically reports and receives warnings about speed cameras, mobile cameras, accidents, and road hazards — in real time, across every country the community operates in.

This means the more drivers use it in a country, the better the coverage gets. In high-density markets like Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, and France, the coverage is excellent. In smaller markets, it still works — you just report hazards yourself and benefit from other travellers doing the same.

Legal status — country by country

Coverage and legality are two separate questions. The device works everywhere — but the legal status varies by country.

The one country to watch — Switzerland

Switzerland is the only major European country where the OOONO CO-DRIVER NO2 is completely illegal. All speed camera warning devices — including GPS-based POI systems — are prohibited. Devices are confiscated and drivers are fined. If you're driving through Switzerland from another country, switch the device off and remove it from view before crossing the border.

France and Germany — special rules

France: The CO-DRIVER operates under the danger zone warning framework — the same legal basis as Google Maps and Waze. OOONO sells on Amazon.fr. Always verify the current regulations before use.

Germany: OOONO sells the CO-DRIVER on Amazon.de. German law StVO §23 places personal responsibility on the driver. The device is widely used across Germany.

Does OOONO work on motorways and highways?

Yes. The CO-DRIVER NO2 works on all road types — motorways, national roads, urban roads. It covers fixed speed cameras, mobile cameras, average speed cameras (section control), and community-reported hazards like accidents, road works, and debris.

Frequently asked questions

Does OOONO work in Eastern Europe?
Yes. The community covers Poland, Hungary, Croatia, and other Eastern European countries. Coverage improves as more drivers join the network in each region.

Does OOONO work when driving across multiple countries?
Yes. The device and app work seamlessly across borders. The community updates automatically as you cross into a new country. Remember to switch off when entering Switzerland.

Does OOONO need a SIM card or data plan?
The CO-DRIVER connects via Bluetooth to your phone, which handles the data connection. Standard mobile data roaming applies across the EU. No separate SIM or subscription for the device itself.

Is OOONO accurate outside major cities?
Accuracy depends on community density. In high-traffic corridors and major routes, coverage is excellent. On quiet rural roads, it works but with fewer community reports. Fixed camera locations are pre-loaded regardless of community density.
